Education
I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia College Chicago and a BA in English from Bryan College. I also hold a Prosci Change Management Certification and completed additional writing study through the Warren Wilson College MFA residency and a workshop at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
My literary education sharpened my attention to voice, structure, audience, and the choices that make an idea clear and memorable.
Teaching experience
As a college writing instructor at Flashpoint College and St. Augustine College, I taught composition, public speaking, professional writing, creative nonfiction, interviewing, research, resumes, cover letters, and other forms of applied communication.
My students included nontraditional learners, media-arts students, adult learners, and multilingual students. That range required me to make writing practical, accessible, and connected to real-world goals rather than treating it as an abstract academic exercise.
What the classroom taught me

- Make expectations visible and examples concrete

How teaching shapes my work now
Whether I am developing a digital program, writing a scenario, shaping a content strategy, or advising stakeholders, I still work from the same core belief: strong communication helps people understand what matters, see themselves in the material, and feel more capable of acting on what they have learned.
Teaching gave me an enduring respect for audience, context, clarity, and the difference between presenting information and helping someone use it.
